“A wise old owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw the less he spoke;
The less he spoke the more he heard...
Why can't we all be like that bird?”

  5. I started out to make appple crisp.
    Opened a brand new SEALED Quaker Oats tub and it was full of bugs.
    So I decided to make pastry dough for pie. Opened my cupboard and was out of crisco. Oil or butter.. decided on butter.
    put it all together and into oven
    and then shock hit me.

    Because the topping is the thickener in apple crisp - I hadn't put any flour in the apples and I forgot all about that in the run up to the oven.

    ... so my pie was a slurpee.
    The taste was fine -- Here, have a sip!!!
